Ok so I have to get better at taking pics but I thought I would show you a shot of my latest piece. I used herringbone and peyote stitches and a lampwork disc for the button. It was fun to watch it come together. I never know what the piece is going to look like done when I start out..It sort of has a life of it's own and takes shape as I go. That is the fun of it. It is like a mini mystery in every piece.

Great piece. Just stopping by to say hi to fellow bloggers participating in Lori's Bead Soup. Can't wait to see what you create.
ReplyDeletePretty bracelet. It is always hard to take photos of jewelry and beads, one thing that really helped me was buying a light box. Of course you can also make one but the first one I made was way too small and the thought of having to make another bigger one made me want to cry. I'm better with beading than with a craft-knife, cardboard, paper and glue. lol
ReplyDeleteI also found some great lights and some clamp on reflectors. The aluminum reflectors I bought at Home Depot and Lowe's has them too. They cost about $6 each and they are wonderful as you can place the light where you want. A professional photographer told me to use GE 100 watt Daylight 6500K light bulbs when I'm shooting my pictures (since there's no way I can afford a profession lighting system). All I can say is that my photos have improved 200% since I got the correct bulbs, the reflectors and a light box. I no longer get that yellowish tint to all my photos...also a photo editing program is a must have, I'm using a freebie called Picasa, it is no where near as sophisticated as Photoshop but it's free instead of $600. :D
